What we store, and why
| Email address | To sign you in, and to send the code that proves it is you. |
| Name | To credit you on anything you contribute. It is public. |
| Password | Stored only as a scrypt hash. We cannot read it. |
| Proofs you submit | To check them, and to show you your own history. Private unless you publish them. |
| Discussion posts | They are the point of the discussion. Public. |
| Uploaded PDFs | Attached to the question or idea you attached them to. |
| Daily counters | To stop one account exhausting a shared resource. |
What we do not do
No advertising, no analytics service, no third-party trackers, no selling or sharing of anything to anyone. There is no cookie banner because the only cookie is the one that keeps you signed in, and a site does not need consent for that.
Who else sees it
Text you submit for an English explanation is sent to Anthropic’s API to produce it. Nothing else leaves our servers. Anthropic does not train on API data. If you would rather nothing was sent, do not use the explanation feature — every other part of the site works without it.
Deleting your account
Write to us and the account, your email address and your unpublished submissions are deleted. Verified proofs and discussion posts stay, attributed to a former member rather than to you. That is a deliberate trade and you should know it before you sign up: removing a verified proof would falsify the record of what has been proved, and the corpus being trustworthy is the whole product.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK: access, correction, deletion, portability and objection, exercised by writing to hello@conjectura.org. We answer within 30 days. Our lawful basis is the contract you enter by creating an account, and legitimate interest for the abuse counters.
